October Events and Our First Ever Bottled Beer

It’s Been a Busy Fall at TF!

As this Salt Lake City brewery approaches our 4th anniversary, we want to say THANK YOU to you all. Thank you for your continued stoke and support for us. We have the best community – you continue to push us to be innovative with our beers and excited by the possibilities.

Happy 4th Anniversary to us! Join us for our anniversary celebration on Friday, October 28

Google tells us the traditional 4th-anniversary gift is fruits and flowers. We’re not sure about the flowers, but we’ll bring the fruit in our first-ever bottled beer release. We took our base dunkel recipe and aged it atop local Montmorency cherries. Over 14 months in oak casks, our blend of 3 different brettanomyces strains transformed this bier into something mesmerizing. Triple Brett was bottle-conditioned with champagne yeast to give it a high-quality effervescence. Light, malty lager bier paves the way for juicy cherry and barnyard-style complexity. Oak, fruit, and sweet malt on the nose. And champagne pop upon opening the bottle. You don’t want to miss out on our premier TF bottle release. Templin Family Brewing has always held quality as its top priority; our first ever bottled release is a total testament to that ideal.

We’ll have a special anniversary release of our Jellyfish Hazy IPA on Wednesday, October 26, for our official anniversary.

Google also tells us that the modern 4th-anniversary gift is an appliance. Luckily, we already treated ourselves there: in February we expanded the brewhouse to nearly double our production. Call it a gift that keeps on giving. We also added big-barrel wooden foeders, which allow us to continue to innovate with our beers. This year, we’re proud to have won two medals at the Great American Beer Fest. We can’t wait to see what we have to report for our 5th anniversary.

Our Best Oktoberfest Yet

Echoes of “Prost!” are still ringing through the taphouse. Munich’s Oktoberfest doesn’t open until the mayor taps the keg – we did the same with owner-brewmaster Kevin Templin’s tapping of the first keg of the fest. Thanks to our community for showing up to make this year’s Oktoberfest the best yet. Save the date, because we’re already planning to make next year’s the new best-yet.

Intimate Beer Tasting Event

Mark your calendars for Thursday, October 27th, 6 PM. We’ll host an exclusive beer tasting for our very first bottled beer. This ticketed small gathering will be hosted by owner-brewmaster Kevin Templin. Kevin and some of the brewers will discuss the beer and answer any questions. Keep an eye on our Instagram for more info, and act fast! It will sell out.

Great American Beer Fest

Gold for our Guava Coconut and Silver for our Granary KellerBier!

Some call this weekend a beer drinker’s heaven. Over 10,000 beers from 500 breweries, and all of the cool people that go with them. We brought 6 beers and are so happy to have won a gold and a silver. Our Guava Coconut, brewed here at TF in a collaboration with Shades Brewing, took home a gold. Our flagship unfiltered pilsner, the Granary KellerBier, won a silver.

Apres for Snow Party

Let’s pray for snow with some of the best in the business, Friday, October 21, from 6 PM til close. Co-hosted with Smith Optics, with a film from Teton Gravity Research, we’ll have giveaways from 14 awesome partners. Proceeds will benefit the Billy Poole Foundation, a non-profit supporting opportunities for kids to learn to ski, in honor of Billy Poole’s ski legacy. Wear a party shirt, gaper attire, or both, and make sure to pose for a pow shot in our photobooth to win a prize. We’ll have a special beer release just for this party – don’t miss it!
